30 Bands in 30 Days - Day 5
Band: Red Flag
Favorite Member: Mark Reynolds (†). I think we’re pretty much alike.
Favorite Song: I Remember (Amnesia) and Deeper Shade Of Blue (Extended)
Favorite Album: I think it’s Codebreaker T133, but I’m not sure.
Favorite Lyrics:
“I was nearly blind, nearly
I could barely see, clearly
And when I touched the sky,
She calls to me, come here a little bit closer
Closer than the thoughts behind your eyes
Then I realize
Illumination, and she’s lying there
Illumination, and her eyes light up the room
Illumination, no longer unaware
Illumination, like morning she’s dawning in my room”
First Song You Ever Heard: Dunno if it was Russian Radio or Broken Heart, I can only remember it was on Last.FM
When You Became a Fan: 2007
Seen Them Live: Never…
A Memory Involving the Band: Listening to Russian Radio in a brazilian flashback radio show. Red Flag is SO underrated and SO underground I NEVER EVER EVER WOULD EXPECT TO HEAR THEM ON A RADIO!!!!!!!!!!!!
I can’t stop listening to Red Flag, now I’ve got the complete discography.
I REALLY REALLY LOVE THEM.
And I feel some strong empathy for Mark. And a deep sadness when I try to realize what really happened on April 7, 2003.
They never had the fame they deserved.
